What is Leadership 2012?

Leadership 2012 is GPL Network’s 10th annual Leadership Conference for accounting firms. Spread over three nights and two days, this year we will be focusing on GROWTH and TECHNOLOGY with three fantastic keynote speakers and a wealth of information, systems and tools to enhance the success of your firm. Leadership 2012 will be a great opportunity for you and your team to take a break from working IN your business and do some work ON it. You will have the opportunity to strategize and fine-tune your plans with the added value of finding out what is (and isn’t) working from peers around Australasia. Over the course of the two days, we will give you a chance to develop a concrete outline for the 12/13 Financial Year, incorporating a 90-day plan, and – importantly – giving you the tools and information to turn your vision to reality. We suggest you bring key team members with you, as this is a great opportunity for everyone to get clarity on their role in the firm and participate in developing the firm's future directions. When you aren’t at the conference, there is an entire tropical island – and all the activities that come with it – for you to enjoy. Who says learning can’t be fun?!

Tom O’Toole – The Renowned Beechworth Baker

Rod Drury – CEO & Founder of Xero

Rod Drury is CEO and founder of NZX-listed Xero, an online accounting solution for small businesses. One of Australasia's leading technology entrepreneurs, Rod is a member of the New Zealand Hi-Tech Hall of Fame, NZ Hi-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006 and 2007, World Class New Zealander for ICT in 2008 and an Honorary Fellow of the NZ Computer Society. He is a Director of the New Zealand Exchange, was a Director of TradeMe when it was sold to Fairfax Media and is a member of Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Commerce Advisory Board. In addition, Rod is a founder and Director of Pacific Fibre, a new international fibre cable project connecting Australia and NZ to the USA. Rod will give you a unique snapshot of accounting software, cloud computing and how you can use technology to revolutionise your business from someone at the cutting edge. Ed Chan - Chan & Naylor

A qualified accountant with over 31 years experience, Ed Chan co-founded Chan & Naylor in 1990 from a home office and has since grown it into a national accounting group with over $12m annual turnover. Chan & Naylor won the coveted 2006, 2007 and 2008 BRW Fastest Growing Accountancy Firm in Australia and its currently ranked 40th in the top 100 Firms Australia-wide with seven offices across the nation. Chan & Naylor’s culture and values are featured and studied by thousands of students when they complete their CPA program with The Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants and the firm is used as a benchmark for Best Practice at University of Queensland. Ed has been a regular presenter of ‘Best Practice’ seminars to over 4000 Accountants in Public Practice with The Institute of Chartered Accountants and The National Institute of Accountants. He has also been a keynote speaker at the National Directors Conference for the ATO and co-authored 4 best-selling investment books. Timothy Munro - Director & Founder of Change Accountants & Advisors and CountGPS

CHANGE was founded in 2011 by Director & CEO, Timothy Munro. Borne out of a highly successful firm Tim co-founded over 20 years ago, Tim and his team have been advising clients for over 21 years. In a Joint Venture with Count Financial Ltd, Tim set up CountGPS, a company that provides internet based systems and processes that accounting firms can use to dramatically drive up their profits and at the same time offer better and a wider range of services to their clients. So why did Tim start CHANGE? Tim’s vision is that an accounting firm should be to their clients so much than “we just do your tax”. • Average hourly rate $230
